I've been studying Wicca for about 3 years and just want to know who else is into on here. I find it really interesting and really meaningful, but it's a bit overwhelming because there are many choices and so many options, surprisingly more than Christianity. Just wondering...

well i'm very mush on the eclectic side, so i've basically have been studying it in general. then i'm now studying further about alexandrian wicca, though interesting it think if i ever actually start practicing wicca i'll prob. go more on the eclectic solitary side, i'm very much into Buddhism and zoaism  but i have no idea what i really want to practice yet. i'm thinking my representation of the god and the goddess will be from the greek pantheon since I am greek and know a lot about mythology. idk i like a lot of different cultures, and although it will take me awhile to pick which and what i want to take from and which parts of wicca i want to practice i like that there are choices but it's not like you can read a wiccan "bible" and suddenly comprehend most of it, but i'm a studious person. idk i like everything about it.

I know about Gerald Gardner he basically set up the idea of wicca, but in no way did he start it. Wicca takes from many religions, mostly Pagan in general, but if you really want to know everything about Wicca you'd have to look up so many religions and really read all about them or at least what aspects you want to incorporate for yourself. But even Gerald Gardner has many books not just one where you can read and understand everything you need to know. Being that Wicca doesn't have a really depth history as of itself, unlike the bible where it's been thousands of years. giving time for the religion to development more, but even still a lot of Christians haven't read the entirety of the bible but they know enough, there are key beliefs and events. But in Wicca there are no actual events like say Christmas, it all revolves around the cycle of nature or everything really. you can't become a priest just by reading the bible because that really is one point of view when they are many more in Christianity. Wicca is similar in that way you can read a book on it and know it's basics and many ways to practice etc. (just like the bible) you have you're guidelines but you will never know enough about it by reading one or two books.

I've looked a bit into Wicca and read the Book of Shadows (although I didn't really understand it that well), but I'm a little bit interested in it and will probably read up more about that.

*shrug* Suit yourself, but don't think that you're practicing actual Wicca in the meantime.

yes, and? he was the first to let's say come out of the broom closet but, contrary i believe that he was not the first to practice wicca, maybe the first to represent it and give it a name... it's debatable

Except it's not at all debatable, and if you'd read that site, you'd realize that.

Consider: it was formerly a website called Why Wiccans Suck, just to attract angry people like you so that maybe you'd read it and *gasp* learn something.

I can guess.

Look at the site, see what it has to say, then you can throw a fit about not being "immature."
